Every day this year, I’ll select a short reading from one of my favorite books, and share it. My hope is that these inspire us, and help us connect with our Dragon Energy. To receive these daily emails, ask [email protected] to add you to the group.
As within, so without. When we are full of inspiration, we do amazing work. But when we feel empty and thirsty, we struggle. Most of 2021, I felt uninspired, so I struggled with a lack of clarity and motivation. I kept asking myself... How do I fill myself with inspiration?
In the I Ching, the symbol for inspiration is The Well.
In the well there is a clear, cold spring From which one can drink.
All of us have inherited the wealth of the world’s wisdom traditions - Sufi, Stoic, Taoist, Zen, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Christian, Greek, European, African, Native American, others... Great souls left their wisdom behind for us; put it in writing, made books for us... This is The Well. It is our secret treasure. A magical potion. Let us drink.
Each of us has also inherited nature, and our human nature. We have the capacity for prayer, meditation, intuition and reflection. We can all see, think and write; meet, speak and listen; sit, walk and explore. This, too, is The Well. Let’s drink!
Going to the well brings “supreme good fortune.” It is inexhaustible, it has something for everyone. No matter what you’re struggling with, no matter how empty you feel - come. Every morning, let’s draw from the well of inspiration together.
