Leadership, the practice of guiding and inspiring individuals or groups toward achieving common goals, has roots tracing back to ancient civilizations where figures like pharaohs, emperors, and tribal chiefs wielded authority and influence. Over centuries, theories of leadership evolved, from the “Great Man” theory focusing on inherent traits to more contemporary approaches emphasizing situational, transformational, and servant leadership. Today, leadership is recognized as a dynamic and multifaceted discipline, integral to the success of organizations and societies.

Leadership

If such a place as Utopia exists or shall exist at all, it shall be founded and inhabited by heroes and heroines, gallant leaders all…

I encourage you, our esteemed students, to delve into the riches of knowledge that our department offers. As we traverse this journey of learning, let us not forget the power of critical inquiry and dialogue in the pursuit of wisdom and truth. For as I often say, "The measure of a man is what he does with power." (Like George Washington!) Let us, therefore, seek to use our power wisely, cultivating the virtues of justice, courage, wisdom, and temperance.
