Look around you. What you see are not merely the physical objects which you call “books”, which are objects made of paper, which is manufactured from wood, and then imprinted with words through ink. Those words, language itself, is more than merely technology. Whether you are a secular scholar or a mystical seeker, before you is the Sanctum of Alexandria, which protects, studies and brings back to life the ancient civilizations & sacred traditions of all of human History and Religion.

These books and words express the creative imagination of the ancients. They contain the beliefs and practices, stories and poetry… which inspired their Art , architecture and artifacts, music, Politics, Philosophy, Science and their other contributions — which eventually built the world around you. That is why we still call them magical (invisibly powerful), sacred (set apart) and worthy of our protection, study and re-imagination.

Dead? These are living words. They’re not dead to us! No, not here. Here, they’re an ongoing care and concern. I suppose you could call us conservationists, but it’s not clear whether we’re preserving history’s sacred classics, or whether they’re preserving us…

Well come, my dear students and readers. You are among friends. Make yourself at home here, and explore to your hearts’ content. If you’d like a guide, feel free to approach any of our Faculty members, across Departments, and ask them for guidance. They’re here to help.
